Garden Fresh Salsa

By on Oct 5, 2012

Nothing is better than garden fresh salsa! Fortunately I have friends who garden and are always willing to share. Here is a simple and fun recipe for pico de gallo in 7 easy steps!

-->

What Your Need:

  • 4 large tomatoes
  • 1 small onion
  • Peppers: I used a mixture of Anaheim, serrano and Jalapeño. My family love heat so I used around 2 Anaheim, 3 serrano and around 10 Jalapeño  however use sparingly if you do not like your salsa hot. Side note, also GREAT with Super chilies and Habaneros
  • Cilantro
  • 2 clove fresh minced garlic
  • 1/2 Lime; juiced

How To Do It:

Step 1: Dice Tomatoes

Step 2: Cut Onion

Step 3: Chop cilantro

Step 4: Chop & dice peppers. I actually used a food chopper for this to make the peppers into smaller pieces.

Note: Keep the seeds if you like it hot!

Step 5: Mince garlic cloves and add (Sorry forgot to take a picture of this).

Step 6: Warm half of the lime in the microwave for 10 seconds and squeeze over ingredients.

Step  7: Mix and let marinate for 1 hour. Then serve with chips and enjoy!

What you you think of this recipe? Is it something you would try? Any suggestions for substitutions?
